Our panel of judges for 2020
We at MGT are forever grateful to our esteemed panel of judges for taking out time to support and encourage our participants from all over the world. Owing to the sheer volume of video projects, we unfortunately , will not be able to give individual feedback during any stage of the festival.
Passionate about art and communication, Natalia founded the Aestene Cultural Association in Bologna after which she decided to move to Ibiza where she created a blog “On Ibiza Clouds” covering not only lifestyle but also the historical and natural beauties of the island.
She began her journey in the audiovisual world with filmmaker Enrico Farro and through Mobile Journalism workshops. She is the co-founder of Mojo Italia, the first Italian mobile journalism festival since 2018.
She has also traveled to Nepal while volunteering for an NGO, “Via Oberta a Nepal”, to make a documentary totally shot on smartphones.
Emmanuel Yegon is a multi-skilled multimedia journalist. He’s the Co-Founder and Communications Director at Mobile Journalism Africa, a digital storytelling outlet based in Kenya. He has trained storytellers and filmmakers in Kenya and across the continent on smartphone storytelling.
Kabil khan is an assitant professor with the department of media studies and journalism at University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB). He is an Advisor for the Dhaka International Mobile Film Festival (DIMFF) that only accepts films made on a smartphone. Khan is also the author of Bangladesh’s first complete mobile journalism book called ‘Mobile Journalism: journalism of our time. He was a speaker at Asia’s first international mobile journalism conference held in Bangkok in 2019.
AMTUL & FAHAD
Patangeer is a Karachi based digital content creation company, led by a couple that is a powerhouse of talent! Amtul and Fahad, the wandering kites, as they refer to themselves, create nothing less than digital magic while documenting their travels across the world. Amtul is the brain behind the direction, logistics, PR and social media for the brand, while also handling most of the correspondence with clients. While Fahad brings his expertise for the technical side of Patangeer, thinking of unorthodox shots, whether by using the drone, or by trying out new equipment to add an element of action to lift food recipes to an all new level. His post-production work adds an extra zing to all the content they create.
Innovative as they are, the have not let the pandemic affect their travel vlogs, branching off into content under the banner of Office Quarantine Series.
When they are not creating personal content, they are found making DVCs, documentaries, corporate videos and short films for various clients. They have traveled to over 40 countries between them while exploring Pakistan in detail together. You can check their digital travel blogs about indonesia, Nepal, Seychelles, UAE, and USA.
Ayaz khan is a multimedia trainer, researcher, and technology specialist. Since 2016, Ayaz has led the development of Mobile Filming and Journalism (mojo) in Pakistan to harness the potential of smartphones for content creation and storytelling. He specialises in using smartphones for content creation, storytelling techniques and editing.
After founding MOJO Pakistan, Ayaz has trained hundreds of storytellers, content creators and journalists in the country.
Nida Khan has over 10 years of experience in front of the camera as a national TV drama artist. Her popular work includes Qadoorat and Parsa on Hum TV among others. One of her short films, Dia, is available on Amazon Prime in the UK and US territories. She is a trained multimedia journalist and has been in the field for over five years. She also conducts mobile journalism training workshops for students and working professionals as a part of MOJO Pakistan.
